ABOUT THE SESSION.

What to expect from a photoshoot with Matt S Crowder Photography

I recognize that a photoshoot is not something that you do very often, so you may have questions about it.

Here are the six things you should know.

ALL SESSIONS ARE CUSTOMIZED TO YOU

Be it a child portrait or family group photo session, I will create a completely customized and bespoke portrait session for you.

Prior to your session, we will discuss your hopes for the portraits.

I want to know as much about you as possible, so I may tailor your experience to your exact wishes.

And while I may retain the creative control, I value and welcome your input about how you’d want the session to go and the types of images you want to achieve.

It’s imperative that my portraits reflect the uniqueness of each individual and family.

LOVEABLE, INTIMATE PORTRAITS

My objective is capturing the personal connection between family members.

To portray the intimacy between partners.

To reveal the immense love parents feel for their child, or children.

To show the love each shares with the other.

The goal in each session is bringing you together, creating the opportunity to capture and celebrate closeness.

Your family is special and the love you share should be celebrated!

EXPRESSIVE, TIMELESS ART

You may have noticed my portraits aren’t snapshots sporting fake smiles and unnatural poses.

Instead, I strongly focus on the eyes.

I LOVE to capture my client’s eyes. Windows to the soul and all that.

During the session, I encourage people to reveal their true self, so that I may express this in the portraits.

While I recognize not everyone is a natural in front of a camera, I am committed to helping you feel as comfortable as possible.

I will guide and direct you, to help you look and feel your best possible self.

CLOTHING SHOULD BE CAREFULLY PLANNED AHEAD OF THE SESSION

Once you have booked your portrait session, one of the very first things I will tell you is that the clothing you wear is critical.

It will determine the mood and tone of the portraits.

For that reason, Your clothing choices should be thoroughly considered well in advance of the session.

Again, I am here to help! I will provide you with a mood board on Pinterest to guide the style of clothing I recommend you wear.

If you would like, you are very welcome to send me images of the clothing choices you are thinking of bringing to the photoshoot.

I will provide feedback and give you suggestions on how to create a cohesive look that works well in the photos.

Overall, we are looking for stylish, timeless, and minimalistic clothes that help keep the focus on you rather than on the clothes.

I WILL CREATE COLOR AND BLACK & WHITE PORTRAITS

Following the session, I will hand-pick the best portraits to be edited personally, by me.

These are then presented to you as finished images at your viewing appointment, approximately 3-4 weeks following your session.

Each portrait will be available in color and black and white.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE, LOVE AND FAMILY

Having portraits taken is a special occasion.

An occasion that I intend to make exceedingly enjoyable for you, and memorable. I know you value your individuality and will want portraits of exceptional quality, that are entirely unique and personal to you.

My hope is that now you know more about the session and what you can expect, you will realize that this is exactly what you can expect when commissioning me.

I hope to see you very soon!
